Animal Adoption Program

The Animal Adoption Program, launched in 2009, is a public service ad campaign focused on spreading the word that pets in shelters are wonderful and lovable, and encouraging potential adopters to consider the shelter as the first place to look when acquiring a “new best friend.”

Directions

From Harlingen (South Bound)
  1. Take the Farm Road 510 Exit.

  2. Turn Left onto Farm Road 510.

  3. Pass Business 77 continue straight until San Jose Ranch Road.

  4. At the red blinking lights/stop sign turn right on to FM 510.

  5. As soon as you turn right, on the left hand side is the County Barn and the Animal Shelter entrance is the last left unpaved entrance.

From Brownsville (North Bound)
  1. Take the Farm Road 510 Exit.

  2. Turn Right onto Farm Road 510.

  3. Pass Business 77 continue straight until San Jose Ranch Road.

  5. As soon as you turn right, on the left hand side is the County Barn and the Animal Shelter entrance is the last left unpaved entrance.
