Coastal Impact Assistance Program
The 2005 CIAP was authorized by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, http://www.mms.gov. Two hundred and fifty million dollars, ($250M) will be divided annually from fiscal years 2007 through 2010 among the coastal states of Alabama, Alaska, California, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The funding will be divided along a cost share formula between the states and their coastal political subdivisions (CPS).
Cameron County is accepting project applications for its share of the FY 2009 & FY 2010 Coastal Impact Assistance Program funds. Cameron County is estimated to receive a combined total of $1,393,313.00 (FY 09-$700,249, FY10-$693,064).
Minimum Grant Proposal Amount is $100,000.00. Proposals under $100,000.00 will not be accepted.
Qualified agents are: State agencies, Federal agencies, University, Municipal & Local Government, Subdivisions of the State, and Non-profit organizations. Project grant applications must be submitted no later than August 31, 2010 by 5:00 p.m. to be considered for funding.

A workshop to discuss the County CIAP Grant will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cameron County Dancy Courthouse 1st Floor Exhibit Room located 1100 E. Monroe Street, Brownsville, Texas 78520.
